# Pith

Canonical page: https://capsules.run/skills/pith/

Pith is a causal compression grammar for LLM event chains, comments, and prose. It is designed for machine reasoning density rather than human readability.

## What It Does

Pith keeps semantic payload: facts, causes, states, warnings, and technical identifiers. It drops scaffolding: filler, hedging, and repetitive phrasing.

## Zones

- Prose and replies: compressed with archetype grammar.
- Comments: compressed while preserving technical terms exactly.
- Code: protected and never altered by the compression grammar.

## Current Validation Claims

- 71-77 percent reduction in validated incident chains.
- Approximately 97 percent technical content preservation in the tested samples.
- Validated across cloud and local models, including Gemma 4 E4B.

## Relationship To Capsule

Pith pairs with Capsule by keeping event chains dense without discarding provenance. It is useful when capsules become long-lived, multi-actor records.
